What is ROTYX?
ROTYX® is a Finnish technology company offering innovative accessory solutions for excavators. The ROTYX innovation is based on a hydraulic torque device that replaces traditional hydraulic cylinders.
Thanks to the structure implemented with the hydraulic torque device, it’s extremely easy and quick to work in tight spaces and narrow trenches, as well as near walls or other obstacles.
- Työajan ja energian säästö
- Parempi kaivuutyön lopputulos
- Pienempi riski seinien, puiden, pylväiden tai muiden mahdollisten kaivuualueen esteiden vaurioitumiselle
- Vähemmän huoltokohteita
- Enemmän kaivuuvoimaa
The Torque Device – “Intelligent Power”
The core idea of the ROTYX torque device is to deliver high torque in a compact space. The central vane shaft divides the pressure chamber into two sections. The pressure difference between the chambers creates the torque force, which is transmitted through a splined shaft to the tilting part.
Its design is exceptionally strong and compact, allowing for a low-profile tiltrotator. The low profile is one of the key features, as it helps minimize digging power loss.
”Ideas to Business”
ROTYX as our customer, represents Mertala’s “Ideas to Business” ideology at its best. We have collaborated with ROTYX from the concept stage all the way to a commercial product. Our role has included providing expertise in mechanical design and strength calculation, creating technical documentation, and offering design infrastructure for the client’s use. ROTYX CEO Mikko Pölkki expresses his satisfaction with the smooth cooperation:
We are impressed by Mertala’s team’s passion for technology and their flexibility in serving us with quick response times. Developing a new technology company into a profitable business would be a long and difficult path without skilled partners.
We have produced 3D models, technical drawings, strength calculation reports, user and maintenance manuals, and conducted a risk analysis in collaboration. We have been actively involved in practical tasks, from testing to equipment deployment. We believe that participating in assembly and commissioning is the best way to further develop design expertise. We are proud to support a Finnish technology company like ROTYX comprehensively, not only in mechanical design but also in product management and hands-on implementation.
